        About the Farm

Come feed your soul at the idyllic Bella Acres  Farm and Animal Sanctuary. Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, just 75 miles from Manhattan, Bella Acres is a 225 year old family farm on eleven acres of pristine pastures, meadows, woodlands, and wetlands with ponds and streams to explore and enjoy. This historic property offers a place to unplug, unwind and enjoy a truly unique animal centered experience adjacent to dozens of world class wineries, historic breweries, scenic hiking trails, antique markets, craft fairs and local farm to table food.

While you are here owner Jason Miller will escort you around the free range farm yard while you mingle with hundreds of goats, lambs, pigs, alpacas, ducks, geese, rabbits, chickens, roosters, cats, puppies and over 60 dogs, most of whom have been rescued from inhumane conditions or certain death in a factory farm. Jason, a legally blind veteran, has made it his life’s work to care for these animals and relies solely on donations to sustain the sanctuary. He lost his barn in a fire in February 2025 and has been trying to raise money to rebuild before winter. He works alongside local SPCA leadership to ensure the safety and well being of every animal that comes to the farm and spends every waking minute attending to their needs.

Great place! The owner Jason is just amazing! He not only is blind but takes such great care of all these animals! Currently Jason is raising money to rebuild his barn that unfortunately burned down. He is accepting donations for materials, feed and people to help him build. You can contact him for details for donations! It’s a great place to visit and experience all these animals first hand. They are all friendly and just want pets!!-  Debbie

Bella Acres Farm is a lovely place to visit if you want to see and spend time with different animals like sheep, goats, geese, ducks, pigs, and others. My husband and I took our twins for their second birthday to see the animals. We had a great time! The owner, Jason, shows so much love and care for the animals. We will be back! Highly recommended!

Wonderful animal sanctuary in Walden, NY. The animals are all so loving, they come running for attention. Jason, the owner, is kind and daddy to all the animals. He took his time telling us about each animal and what it takes to run the sanctuary. He recently had a fire and lost his barn so I will definitely be back with food donations. It is by reservation only as each tour is private.

We’ve been to farm in the past and loved the whole experience of walking the grounds amongst all of different animals. It was quite an experience being able to touch them as well as hold a baby goat. It was great learning all about the different types of animals and how they coexist. Jason was more than friendly taking his time walking along incase we had any questions. Recently we’ve learned he had a barn fire which is so tragic considering the amount of animals he helps. The donation allows him to keep helping animals, some of which would have no where to go if not for his farm. We plan on visiting again to see some of the newer additions he has like alpaca. Great day out!-Vincent Garibaldi
